Before the dance there is an hour that disappears in a blur: the corsage, the parents, the friends arriving, the light turning gold. I photograph it the way I photograph weddings, quietly and attentively, with gentle direction instead of stiff posing, so the photographs you keep look and feel like you.

We meet at home, in a garden or at the venue before you leave. Portraits with your family, the corsage and the details, and you and your date in the best light of the day.

When should we book?+

As soon as you know your dance date. The season is short, most dances land on the same few weekends, and popular dates fill up first.

Where does the shoot happen?+

Wherever you're leaving from: home, a friend's house, a garden, or the venue itself. We shoot in the hour or so before you head to the dance, when the light is at its best.

Who should be in the photographs?+

You and your date, your friends, and your family. The group photographs with your friends are the ones everyone asks for afterwards, so bring everyone.

Do you photograph the getting ready, or the dance itself?+

No. The session covers the hour before you leave: portraits with your date, your friends and your family. That hour is where the photographs everyone keeps come from.

What does it cost?+

R2500 for the session, about an hour to an hour and a half, with hand-edited photographs delivered in a private online gallery.

How many photographs do we get?+

Between 40 and 60 edited photographs. That covers you and your date, the friends, the family and the details, without padding the gallery with near duplicates.

When do we get the photographs?+

In a private online gallery, easy to download and share with family. I'll confirm the delivery timeline when we book your date.

Matric dance season is short and the popular dates fill up quickly. Sessions are R2500 and run about an hour to an hour and a half. Tell me your school, your date and what you have in mind, and I'll come back to you with availability.
