The season
Being engaged is its own season, and it goes quickly. An engagement session is an hour or so of unhurried time with just the two of you: a walk in the last light of the day, gentle direction instead of stiff posing, and photographs that feel the way this time actually feels. Use them for save the dates, an engagement party, or simply to remember the in-between once it has passed.

What to expect
Somewhere that means something to you, or a spot I suggest: a quiet beach, a mountain path, a vineyard. We time it for the last, softest light of the day.
No stiff posing. I give you small things to do and photograph what happens in between, so the photographs look like the two of you rather than a template.
Hand-edited photographs within two weeks, delivered in a private online gallery, easy to download and share, and ready for save the dates, invitations, or a frame on the wall.
Questions
The hour before sunset, almost any time of year. Edited photographs reach you within two weeks of the session, so there is no need to plan far ahead if you want to use them for save the dates or invitations.
Anywhere that feels like the two of you. Cape Town gives us beaches, forests, mountainsides and city streets. If nothing comes to mind, I'll suggest a few spots that suit the light and the mood you're after.
Whatever you feel most yourselves in. Soft, neutral colours photograph beautifully in golden light, and it helps if the two outfits sit well together without matching. I'll send a few pointers once you book.
Travel up to 50 km one way from Uitzicht, Durbanville is included in the session, which covers Cape Town and most of the peninsula. Further afield is still possible; just ask and I'll quote it with your date.
Between 40 and 60 edited photographs. That covers the two of you, the details and the light of the evening, without padding the gallery with near duplicates.
Within two weeks of the session. They arrive in a private online gallery, edited by hand and easy to download and share.
Most couples are, and it's exactly what the session is built for. Everything is centred on doing rather than posing, and ten minutes in it stops feeling like a shoot at all.
