Wedding photography in Cape Town and internationally.

One day.
Every feeling.

Quiet, attentive wedding photography in Cape Town and wherever your day takes you.

The approach

Close enough to feel it,
far enough to let it happen.

A wedding is made of rare, fleeting moments, and almost none of them arrive on cue. I photograph quietly and attentively, with gentle direction only where it genuinely helps, so your gallery reads the way the day felt rather than the way it was scheduled. One day these photographs may be the only record you have of it. I carry that weight into every wedding.

i.

Observation

The frames you keep are rarely the ones anyone posed for: your father's face during the speech, the friend who cannot stop laughing, the quiet second before the doors open. I stay close enough to catch those, and far enough back that they still happen.

ii.

Storytelling

A single photograph is powerful, but a sequence is what you will actually relive. I shoot for the shape of the whole day, morning nerves through to the last song, so the gallery carries the same arc from the first frame to the last.

iii.

Intention

No autopilot, and no filling a card and sorting it out later. Every wedding gets my full attention on the day, and every image that reaches you is hand-edited afterwards. That is why the gallery takes eight weeks rather than eight days.

What to expect

A whole day, told
from the inside.

01

Before the day

We start with a conversation about how your day fits together, and a complimentary engagement session so the camera already feels familiar. I help with the timeline where it serves the light, and by the time the day arrives you'll know exactly how I work.

02

On the day

Half day, full day, or the whole weekend, quietly present from getting ready to the dance floor. Documentary first, with unhurried portraits when the light is at its best.

03

Afterwards

Sneak peeks within a week and the full hand-edited gallery within eight, with printing and a handcrafted album available. A keepsake for life, not just a folder of files.

Coverage Half day, full day, or the whole weekend

Questions

Asked before
every wedding.

How far ahead should we book?+

As soon as you have a date and a venue. Popular season dates, October to March especially, are often taken a year out. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway; it may well be open.

Do you travel for weddings?+

Yes. Travel up to 100 km one way from Uitzicht, Durbanville is included in every collection, which covers Cape Town and most of the surrounding Cape. Beyond that I take on destination weddings across South Africa and internationally, quoted per wedding and kept simple.

What do collections include?+

Every collection includes a pre-wedding consultation, a complimentary engagement session, coverage with an unhurried presence, travel up to 100 km one way from Uitzicht, hand-edited images in a private online gallery, and the option of a handcrafted album. Collections start at R15,000; request the full guide in your enquiry for details.

How many photographs do we get?+

A wedding is not something I shoot to a number. My focus is making sure everything that needs to be covered is covered, from the morning through to the dance floor, and you receive every photograph worth keeping from the day. A full day naturally yields far more than a half day, and a whole weekend more again.

When do we see our photographs?+

A set of sneak peeks reaches you within a week of the wedding, and the full hand-edited gallery within eight weeks. It arrives in a private online gallery, easy to download and share.

Do you photograph engagements as well?+

Yes, and every wedding collection includes one. It's the best possible warm-up for the day itself. See the engagement page for how a session runs.

We're awkward in front of a camera. Will that show?+

Almost every couple says this. Most of the day I photograph what's actually happening rather than posing you, and for portraits the direction is gentle. You'll forget the camera sooner than you think.
